The Gardena 4025-U is a high end electric reel mower that features a premium product at a premium price. This mower has a 15 inch width that is a bit small but is more than made up for with the 24 volt lithium battery that powers the mower. Lithium batteries have several advantages including: they can charge faster, they last longer, and their performance doesn’t tail off towards the end making you double back on the lawn. It has all of the safety features that are standard with an electric reel mower (keyed start, safety shutoff, etc.). The removable grass catcher gives you the flexibility to collect the grass or leave it on the lawn and the LED display gives you an idea of your battery life. One of its best features is that it has an “infinitely adjustable” mowing height that gives you plenty of flexibility on how high you want to cut the grass.

CEL CY1 POWERmow Review

The CEL CY1 POWERmow is one of the best selling electric reel mowers. This is undoubtedly due to the best value that it provides as it is a solid performer offered at a great price. The POWERmow features a 16 inch cutting width and contains a 24 volt, 7 amp battery. The cutting height has several adjustment settings that range from 0.5 inches to 1.8 inches so it keeps the grass under control. It features a manual mode that will let you cut the grass like a regular reel mower should the battery die (or you feel like getting more exercise). Depending on a number of variables, you should be able to get about 60 minutes of cutting time which is enough for about 1600 square feet.

Sun Joe Reel Mower Review

Like we mention in the full Sun Joe mower review, this is about as cheap an electric reel mower that you can get without getting into the shoddy quality mowers. The Sun Joe mower features a 16 inch cutting width with a 24 volt, 2.25 amp battery which is a bit weaker than the other batteries. However, the manufacturer states that you should have enough juice to last for 90 minutes or approx. 1600 square feet. It has several adjustable heights up to 1.8 inches so it’s great for those who like to mow frequently and are on top of their lawn care. Plus, the Sun Joe mower has all of the conveniences you’d expect from an electric reel mower such as en electric start, detachable clipping collector, manual mowing mode, etc. The one big difference is that it weighs considerably more than other mowers and at 40 pounds makes it more challenging to lift and hang somewhere in the shed or garage.
