CEL CY1 POWERmow Description
The CEL CY1 POWERmow mower is a cordless electric lawn mower that uses a small battery to help power the cutting blades. It features a 24 volt rechargeable battery that has an ample 7 amps that can easily handle most overgrown lawns and weeds. The cutting blades are 16 inches wide which is about standard for reel mowers and has an adjustable cutting height from 0.5 to 1.8 inches. The POWERmow weighs only 29 pounds which makes it a great lightweight mower and because it’s so small it can easily fit in tight storage spaces (like under a deck or in a small storage shed). You can even hang it up on the wall to get it out of the way. The mower also has built in safety features to prevent children, pets or even yourself from getting injured.
The battery is a 24 volt, 7 amp battery that, when fully charged is capable of handling a 1600 square foot lawn (or approximately 60 minutes of usage). The battery is removable, so if you do have a larger lawn, you can easily swap out batteries to keep it going. There is also an LED indicator that tells you how much charge you have left.
One nice feature that’s different from other electric reel lawn mowers is that the CY1 POWERmow has an option to either use the battery assist or to use it as a regular push reel mower. So if you’re 95% of the way there and the battery suddenly dies, you can still finish off that last chunk without having to go back and get recharged.
CEL CY1 POWERmow Electric Reel Mower Review
The CEL CY1 POWERmow is one of the best selling electric reel mowers and it’s clear why. Assuming proper maintenance, the POWERmow mower can easily take on most suburban lawns and makes mowing environmentally efficient. There are a few things that you need to do to make sure you get a great cut each time:
- Keep up on the maintenance. Keeping the mower blades sharp is important and is easy to do with a reel mower blade sharpening kit.
- Make sure you’re blade is adjusted properly. Adjusting the blades so that they make that scissors sound is as easy as turning the mower in its side and adjusting two hex screws.
